Michael Phelps won his 19th Gold in Olympics

Swimmer Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian in the history of the Games, today won gold with Team USA in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay. Phelps, who now has 23 Olympic medals, was instrumental in his team’s victory.

Also participating in the men’s 200m butterfly among other events, Phelps holds both Olympic and World records in that event .

Team USA had been in second place until Phelps took over from teammate Caeleb Dressel, taking his team into the lead, with a split time of 47.12s. Experienced sprinter Nathan Adrian, with a 46.97s split time, brought the Americans home for gold.
